Description
These moist & meaty ham & cheese pinwheels are super simple and utterly scrumptious. On the table in less than 10 minutes - they're a good fit for a mid-week meal. We used our Sugar-Free, Applewood Smoked Deli Ham but you can substitute for the Black Forest Ham or Oven Roasted Turkey. Don't be afraid to add your favourite veggies or seedy mustard for some extra tang. There's no wrong way.
Ingredients
- 1 tube of prepared crescent roll dough
- 6 oz, North Country Smokehouse Organic Sugar-Free Deli Ham
- 6 oz, sliced cheese of your choice (we like a Cabot Vermont Sharp Cheddar)
- ½ stick of salted butter, melted
- Chopped parsley, to garnish
Cooking Instructions
- Unroll the crescent roll dough, but do not separate it into individual pieces. You should have one, long rectangle of dough.
- Lay 6 slices of deli ham down to cover the length of the dough, top with cheese, and roll up lengthwise into a long cylinder.
- With a sharp knife, cut across the cylinder to form 1” pinwheels. Brush the top of each pinwheel with melted butter.
- Bake per the package instructions found on the dough, until the cheese is melted, and the pastry browns.
- Activate Fancy Mode: Add a thin spear of asparagus to the centre of each pinwheel before baking to make a passed appetizer for holiday parties or substitute cheddar for crumbled bleu cheese to give these pinwheels an added punch that plays well against the sweet and savoury sugar-free ham.
